Am trying to get into the local social scene so as not to let the hamster wheel drag me down. The management (as it were) posted details about this meet a couple of weeks ago, and when I saw it I decided that I’d try and show up to see if I couldn’t meet a new friend or at least put faces to usernames in the local chat box.

Not gonna lie, am both a bit excited and a bit anxious; it’s been a hot minute since I’ve been to a social event. I figured that this size shindig would be a good way to get a foot back into the social pool; not really interested in trying to maneuver big crowds in a return to being a social butterfly with ‘OVERWHELM’ written in big block letters on the wall.

Am curious to see how things go; I don’t want to speculate too much for fear that speculation will turn into rumination — rumination being the vinegar to all good thoughts and feelings. Am hoping to leave with a good memory or two to come back and report, I could use a couple of those right now.
